A Wife's Perspective

This is dedicated to those of you who have wondered if there is another woman anywhere to be found who has the faintest concept of what you are going through. –- Susie

Over the past few years I’ve written down some of my thoughts (in those rare
moments of coherence!) and some of the insights I’ve gained as a wife of a man who has struggled with transsexuality since he was three. Upon reading them, you will soon discover that most were gained by "muddling" in and out of messes -- some of my own making and some as a result of my husband’s choices.

ONE CERTAINTY:  Father God was always in the thick of it with me. He sometimes seemed eternally slow according to my timetable, and maddingly unresponsive to my temper tantrums and attempts to control Him. But His everlasting arms were always available to me when I sought Him out.

As I look back, I see how He often prepared me in advance for some of the fiercest battles I was to wage, and some of the most devastating emotional "landslides" that I was to survive.

He definitely kept His promise to me: "In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration!" But He was also faithful to keep the second half of that same promise: "But be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world.
[I have deprived it of its power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]" John 16:33 Amplified

It is my desire . . . and prayer . . . that you will at least come away with one definite impression: "I AM NOT ALONE! I know that there is at least one woman who has walked in my shoes."

NOT ALONE ANYMORE!

And I am not the only one (unfortunately!). There are many others. Over the past years, I’ve been privileged to talk with hundreds of other women, each with a husband who is carrying on a love affair with "another woman" – a woman he attempts to emulate in his own world of fantasy.

’HEART 2 HEART.”

Now, thanks to the Internet, we are beginning to "connect" with one another through an email group that I established to build a network among the wives. You can join at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LeadOn_Lord

It’s composed of Christian wives with CD/TS husbands.

·         Some are still with their husbands
·          some separated,
·
         some divorced,
·
         and some widowed.
So whatever circumstances you’re in . . .
you fit.
